Gucci Re-Opens on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue

Gucci for Web 5 Gucci for Web 4 Gucci for Web 6

The newly renovated and expanded Gucci flagship opened to the public in August 2015. At approximately 13,000 SF, the Michigan Avenue flagship is comprised of two floors connected by a dramatic, underlit staircase. The exterior of the boutique was rebuilt with glass and bronze ribbing, upon which a LED “Gucci” nameplate sits. The interiors feature high end finishing such as marble floors, glass and metal fixtures. The clean, modern interiors are outfitted with jewel toned furniture and graphic prints that offset the industrial materials of the fixtures. The renovation and expansion are part of new creative director Michele Alessandro’s larger re-branding efforts and new retail vision, which juggles eclectic juxtapositions between romantic and industrial, contemporary and traditional.
