The 687 SF boutique opened this month in Walnut Creek, CA. The design concept of L’Occitane evokes a farmhouse in Provence, with wood shelving highlighting both the merchandise and ingredients derived from that region. Products are arranged as if in a marketplace, with woven baskets piled on the floor for shoppers. Terracotta tiles and wooden fixtures create a warm color palette suited to the distinctive yellow paint used throughout the interior and exterior of the shop. On the exterior facade, a vibrant mosaic of the Provence landscape further illustrates the origins of the brand. In collaboration with L’Occitane’s in-house design team, KPA has completed more than 150 build-outs for the brand.
