Never heard of Blushington? That’ll change soon. The salon, which has been touted as the DryBar of makeup, specializes in affordable and convenient makeup application, whether that’s an elaborate look for a special event or an everyday “no-makeup makeup” look. The Los Angeles-based salon’s first New York City location just recently opened on the Upper East Side. It’s the brand’s first stand-alone salon; previously, they shared space with fellow compatriots DryBar and Tenoverten in a glam trifecta of beautician services at the Le Parker Meridien. Accented by Blushington’s signature peach color, the salon is modern, sophisticated, but glam, with dark wood flooring and a warm, neutral interior palette. KPA was retained as Architect of Record for this particular location.
